No Labels, No Clue
Plenty of criticism of the silly “No Labels” group which officially launched itself (toward oblivion) today. Jennifer Rubin quotes former congressman Tom Davis making a particularly asinine statement identifying No Labels as “people who care about results, not rhetoric.”
EVERYBODY cares about results. That’s why the rhetoric exists, you doofus.
People disagree on what results are desirable and when they agree on what results are desired they often disagree on what methods will bring about those results.It’s not “right” and “left” labels that disturbs these people, it’s “right” and “WRONG” that disturbs them.
No Labels is born of the same bankrupt relativist philosophy that passes for “intellectualism” these days.
It turns out it’s hard to operate without labels. “We’re going to call ourselves the radical center, the people who care about results, not rhetoric,” said former congressman Tom Davis. “Radical” and “center,” Mr. Davis? For shame.
